Alexandra Ralevski, PhD

Data Scientist II

Alexandra Ralevski obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from McGill University in 2010. She continued her education at Concordia University, where she graduated with a Master’s degree in Plant Biology and Genetics in 2013, and a PhD in Biology from the University of Cologne in 2017. She continued her postdoctoral work at Yale University, where she engaged in translational research at the intersection of plant biology and neuroscience. Before joining ISB, she worked on the NASA Periodic Table of Life (PeTaL) project to develop an AI system to mine the scientific literature for nature-inspired design. She was previously the Science Director at the Biomimicry Institute, where she helped develop an AI tool that allowed users to organize, analyze, and interpret data from scientific papers. Her work at ISB focuses on disease modeling for cohort selection for prospective multiomics trials.
