While working in the Hadlock Lab, Dr. Raul Ocasio worked on design and validation of new approaches for computer-assisted chart abstraction. He applied medical informatics to both biomedical research and optimization of healthcare delivery.
An expert in real-world evidence, medical informatics and data visualization, Dr. Ocasio is dedicated to translational research to improve patient outcomes and community resource stewardship, with a specific interest in preventive medicine. He holds an MD as well as an MS in Bioinformatics. Prior to working at ISB, he supported healthcare organizations, insurance organizations, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and the Centers for Disease Control.
Dr. Ocasio went on to work as a clinical data scientist with Gilead, working with real-world healthcare datasets to extract meaningful insights and design machine learning models for clinical trial applications.
